Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized After Developing Fever

Bill Clinton is on the mend.

The former President of the United States is recovering after being hospitalized in Washington, D.C. for a fever, a spokesperson for Clinton confirmed to NBC News.

“President Clinton has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever,” Angel Ureña, Deputy Chief of Staff for Clinton, told NBC in a Dec. 23 statement. “He is in good spirits and grateful for the care he is receiving.”

Clinton’s wife Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton have yet to speak out publicly on his recovery.

This isn’t the first health scare Clinton has weathered since leaving office in 2001. The politician received worldwide attention in 2004 when he underwent a quadruple bypass operation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He returned to the same hospital for another heart procedure six years later to have two stents inserted into a coronary artery.
