Relationships come and go, but the memories of Hollywood romances live on.
One recollection we’re certainly not going to lose in 10 days is how Kate Hudson once dated Dax Shepard. In fact, the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star and the Parenthood alum said their time together started as a prank on the paparazzi after they grabbed dinner at Nobu.
“While we were there we said, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if we came out holding hands, and I was your new boyfriend?'” Dax recalled on a 2019 episode of his podcast Armchair Expert. “We were just pals.”
As part of the joke, the podcaster continued, he even walked out shirtless and pretended to be angry at the paparazzi for invading their privacy. However, things soon shifted from platonic to romantic, with Dax adding, “and then that just led to somehow hanging out.”
Though their relationship lasted only three months and they’ve since found love with other people (Kate is engaged to Danny Fujikawa and Dax is married to Kristen Bell), they both learned something from that experience.
“I, A, was monogamous for the first time in 15 years or something, so that was great,” he continued. “And then, two, I literally learned how to say, ‘When you do this, I’m scared and I feel this way.'”
