Why ACOTAR Fans Think Elain & Azriel Will Be the Leads in Next Book

It looks like Sarah J Maas may have chosen whose court will reign next.

Fans are convinced the A Court of Thorns and Roses author hinted that the love story of Feyre’s second-eldest sister Elain Archeron and Night Court spymaster Azriel will take center stage in the forthcoming book from the fantasy romance series while sharing a special message about being named Spotify Wrapped’s Top Author of 2024.

In the clip shared to her Instagram Dec. 13, Sarah—wearing a black blazer and white blouse, as well as one red and one blue ring on her right hand—sat in a white room with a vase of flowers visibly in the background. After thanking her fans for helping her achieve the milestone, she took a sip from a cup of tea, only to have some of the liquid dribble down her shirt.

“I literally just spilled the tea,” she quipped before giving a special shoutout to the audiobook narrator for the series, Elizabeth Evans. “She’s actually in the process of re-recording all of the ACOTAR audiobooks we released for the 10th anniversary of ACOTAR this spring.”

“I’m not gonna tell you guys anything,” Sarah continued. “But no surprise, going to be a long book.”

The 38-year-old added, “It’s too early for me to tell you who it will be about. And what’s going to happen, but I hope to have more details for you soon.”
