Kate Middleton, Prince William and Meghan Markle React to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement
Travis Kelce wanted to make sure Taylor Swift had the best day.
So, when it came time to plan his proposal, the Kansas City Chiefs player was worried about the “perfect way” to pop the question—but his dad Ed Kelce and her dad Scott Swift encouraged him to take the plunge.
“It was a couple weeks ago that Travis got it done, after a few weeks of prodding from myself and from Scott Swift,” Ed told Today Australia Aug. 26. “He was going to do it, but wanted to find the perfect way to ask her and to make it special.”
Their fatherly advice? As Ed noted, “We kept trying to tell him, ‘When you do it, that’s what makes it special. So, don’t fret on where. Just get it done.’”
As Ed explained to ABC News 5 Cleveland, he assuaged the NFL star’s fears by telling him, “You know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event.”
