Boox is debuting a new generation of Go e-readers and e-ink tablets. The Boox Go 10.3-inch e-ink tablet, which resembles the Kindle Scribe, is on its second generation and now comes in two models: the standard Go 10.3 and the Go 10.3 Lumi. The latter features a dual-tone front light, designed for reading in low light.

The previous generation of Boox Go 10.3 had the Android 12 system, but Gen II is upgrading to Android 15. With access to the Google Play Store, you have access to millions of apps, including all the reading essentials — Libby, The Kindle Store, and Kobo e-books. The tablet supports 26 file formats, including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, DOCX, MP3, and more. It’s even equipped with speakers for audiobook listeners. It comes with a whopping 64GB of storage, four times the amount of storage you can find in most e-readers.

The Boox Go 10.3 measures 4.6 millimeters thick and 12.7 ounces, while the Lumi is barely bigger, measuring 4.8 millimeters and 12.8 ounces to support the added front light. Both models have 300 ppi resolution, the same you’ll find in the Kindle Scribe. Boox Go e-ink tablets come with the Boox Magnetic InkSense Plus stylus and a slim magnetic case, so it’s like a digital notebook.

Mashable Light Speed

The Boox Go 10.3 (Gen II) costs $419.99 while the Boox Go 10.3 Lumi (Gen II) costs $449.99. As of March 17, both models are available for purchase at Boox and Amazon.

Having recently tested and loved the new generation of Kindle Scribe, we’re looking forward to putting it head-to-head with the new Boox Go to see which is the better e-reader and e-ink tablet.
