Sofía Vergara Reveals She’s Manifesting Love or “a Lover” After Justin Saliman Romance
Sofía Vergara will always cherish her family’s modern dynamic.
The Modern Family alum shared a rare look into her co-parenting bond with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez—who shares son Manolo Vergara, 34, together—and how they’ve remained close over the years.
“He was my high school sweetheart,” Sofía, 53, told Us Weekly in an interview published on Oct. 1. “We got divorced, but we were always good friends. He lived in Colombia, so it was difficult for him to see Manolo a lot, but he’d make the effort [and they’d] see each other at least once or twice a year.”
The Griselda actor continued, “He’s always been there, and he has a great relationship with Manolo.”
Indeed, Sofía and Joe’s romance started in Colombia. (The duo tied the knot in 1991, but called it quits two years later.) Shortly after their split, she and her son relocated to Miami to focus on her acting career. Though this big move added more distance between the former couple, this space didn’t harm Manolo’s relationship with his dad.
