Ellen DeGeneres Debuts Darkest Hair Yet During Rare Public Outing With Wife Portia de Rossi

Ellen DeGeneres is saying bonjour to a different look.

In lieu of her signature blonde pixie cut, the former talk show host rocked a short, dark hairdo as she and her longtime love Portia de Rossi had a date night in Paris Sept. 4.

Attending the grand opening of RH Paris at The Gallery on the Champs-Élysées, the couple coordinated in black—with Ellen, 67, in a crewneck sweater with white khaki pants and sneakers while Portia, 52, wore long-sleeve, turtleneck dress featuring a semi-sheer top and asymmetrical skirt.

The outing marked one of just a handful of public appearances Ellen has made since relocating from Southern California to the Cotswolds in England—a rural area northwest of London—with her wife of 17 years.

“It’s absolutely beautiful,” she told British broadcaster Richard Bacon in July. “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture—everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.”
