There’s a measles outbreak in North Dakota, MPR News reports. Vaccine rates are declining, and only 89% of the most recent group of North Dakota kindergarteners got the shot. Andrea Pedro-Francisco has a cyst on her ovary that has swelled to nearly the size of a tennis ball; it’s at risk of rupturing or cutting off blood supply. She was supposed to have surgery a month ago, but she’s been stuck in an ICE detention center after being arrested on Feb. 5 in Minnesota, Minnesota Reformer reports. “Her case has been taken up by a team of pro bono attorneys and even members of Congress, but to little avail.”

Marisa Simonetti, a former candidate Hennepin County Commissioner, was found guilty on fifth-degree assault charges for throwing a tarantula at her housemate in June 2024. She’s currently running for U.S. Senator from Minnesota, according to her campaign website, Fox 9 reports.

And ICYMI from MinnPost…
