‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star James Pickens Jr. Shares Real Cancer Diagnosis Amid Parallel TV Storyline

Lexy Thornberry is embarking on a health battle.

The Love Island Australia star, who competed on season three of the series in 2021, shared that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

“Sadly I’m not joking,” Lexy wrote in a Nov. 17 Instagram post, alongside a photo of her in the hospital. “In the second picture I posted above, I couldn’t stop laughing that they put me in a robe for my X-ray—I thought it was so dramatic. A couple days later I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer.”

In the picture, the 24-year-old goofily poses in a blue hospital gown for the camera, with the subsequent photo in the carousel showing a drawing of what appears to be her tumor, as she sits in the background with her head in her hands.

“I have always been a healthy person, and was an athlete my entire life,” Lexy continued. “I’m a Pilates instructor and I teach people how to live healthy lives. There’s nothing I did wrong and nothing that could have prevented it. It’s just the luck of the draw.”

Despite the difficult news she was delivering, the former reality star shared, “But it is something I will FIGHT.”
