A Beverly Hills doctor accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his West Los Angeles home had met her through a job recruitment website, and police suspect he may have used the same ruse to prey on other women.

Babak Hajhosseini, 42, a visiting specialist at Wound and Burn Centers of America in Los Angeles and Catalina Island Health, was arrested the day after Thanksgiving on suspicion of sexual assault of an unconscious person, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement posted on X.

The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for potential victims of Dr. Babak Hajhosseini who allegedly used job recruiting sites to target women to drug and sexually assault them.

“Though he is charged with assaulting a single victim, investigators believe there are other victims who have yet to come forward,” the LAPD said. “Detectives are releasing Hajhosseini’s photo to identify and speak with any victims of unreported sexual assaults by Hajhosseini.”

Hajhosseini’s lawyer, Caleb Mason at Werksman, Jackson & Quinn LLP in Los Angeles, issued a statement denying the charges and blasted the LAPD, claiming police made “additional salacious accusations” against the doctor. He added that “there is substantial evidence proving that these allegations are false.”

“Dr. Hajhosseini will try his case in court, not in the media,” Mason said. “Dr. Hajhosseini voluntarily took a polygraph exam, which he passed.”

Hajhosseini was arrested on Nov. 26 and released days later after posting a $2 million bond.

On Friday, Hajhosseini was formally charged with multiple counts of drug-induced rape and rape of an unconscious person. He pleaded not guilty.

“Hajhosseini used job recruiting websites and offered high hourly wages to locate and entice potential victims,” the LAPD said. “He would then invite the potential victims to work overtime after hours at his residence.”

Once there, the LAPD said, “Hajhosseini pressured at least one victim into consuming an alcoholic beverage.”

“After consuming the beverage, the victim fell unconscious before Hajhosseini sexually assaulted and recorded her,” the LAPD said.Hajhosseini’s page on the LinkedIn website lists him as the founder, president and CEO of the Wound and Burn Centers of America. It also says he did a clinical fellowship in wound healing at the Stanford University School of Medicine from July 2017 to June 2020.

According to Hajhosseini’s company website, the company’s motto is, “Healing Humankind One Wound at a Time.”

A quick review of available records show no prior arrests of Hajhosseini.
