‘It Ends With Us’ Star Breaks Silence on Blake Lively’s Justin Baldoni Allegations

Jenny Slate is standing by her friend and It Ends With Us costar Blake Lively.

After Lively filed a legal complaint against Justin Baldoni—fellow star and director of It Ends With Us—for sexual harassment and participating in a smear campaign against her, Slate called the allegations “disturbing.”

“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate—who portrayed the sister of Baldoni’s character in It Ends With Us— shared in a statement to Today Dec. 23. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.”

“What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening,” she continued. “I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”

Lively’s complaint—filed with the California Civil Rights Department as a precursor to a lawsuit, per The New York Times—details alleged misconduct involving Baldoni and fellow Wayfarer exec and producer Jamey Heath that took place on the set of It Ends With Us.

However, a lawyer for Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios—also named in Lively’s complaint—denied the allegations.
