Jennie Garth Tearfully Thanks Ex Husband Peter Facinelli for Taking Her in During L.A. Fires

While the sun has set on Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli‘s romance, it’s since been eclipsed by a newfound friendship.

However, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress—who was married to the Twilight star from 2001 to 2013—admitted that the exes weren’t always on the best of terms following their breakup.

“For so many years, it wasn’t as fun as it could have been,” she told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview, “and we made it seem like it was great and it was all rainbows and ponies. But it was not at times.”

So, what changed that allowed them to move in together during the recent Los Angeles wildfires? She said Peter’s appearance on her I Choose Me podcast in November helped turn the tide for the pair, who share daughters Luca, 27, Lola, 22, and Fiona, 18.

“It really cleared the air for us in a lot of ways,” Jennie continued in the interview, airing this week, “to reconnect as just people, instead of like a divorced couple, the mom and the dad and not agreeing on stuff.”
