Gayle King’s Future at CBS Revealed

Fans are in for many more mornings with Gayle King.

After all, the long-running anchor of CBS Mornings confirmed she will remain with the talk show despite her contract expiring in May.

“Rumors of my demise were inaccurate and greatly exaggerated,” she said in a statement to Variety March 4,  referring to the famous quote attributed to Mark Twain. “CBS News is my longtime home, and I am committed to our mission. I’m excited about continuing at CBS Mornings. As always, I’m open to new adventures here and ready to go.”

She concluded, “It took a minute, but we got there.  And now that we are here, I am all in.”

The news comes months after CBS denied rumors that Gayle would be stepping away from the news program—which she hosts with Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson—and taking on a new role within the corporation this year.

“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,” a CBS News spokesperson said in a statement shared with People on Oct. 30. “She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”
