Harris English held off a final-round charge from Sam Stevens to claim his first PGA Tour title in 1,308 days with a one-shot win at the Farmers Insurance Open.
The overnight leader recovered from two early bogeys to card a one-over 73 in strong winds at Torrey Pines’ South Course, seeing him end the week on eight under and a shot clear of Stevens.
English failed to get up and down from a bunker to save par at the first and dropped another shot at the par-four fifth, only to birdie the par-five next and finish with 12 consecutive pars to see off the chasing pack.

A fifth PGA Tour title is English’s first since coming through an eight-hole play-off at the 2021 Travelers Championship, with victory moving the American back inside the world’s top 50 and securing him an invite The Masters.
“I might have looked calm out there on the course, but inside your emotions are going crazy,” English said. “I just know how hard it is to win. It’s just so much fun. You’ve got to soak it in when you do it.”
Stevens had started the final day six shots back but charged into contention with four birdies in a front-nine 32, with the American cancelling out a bogey at the par-five 13th by picking up a shot at the 17th.
A final-round 68 was the lowest of the day and set the initial clubhouse target, with Stevens – finishing several groups before the final pairing – saving par at the last despite finding the water with his approach.
English held on for victory with a string of two-putt pars along the closing stretch as partner Andrew Novak, who briefly moved ahead after three consecutive birdies from the third, finished two strokes back in third.

Korea’s Sungjae Im finished tied-fourth alongside Norway’s Kris Ventura and Hayden Springer claimed sixth, while England’s Danny Willett posted his best PGA Tour finish since 2022 after ending in a share of ninth.
Hideki Matsuyama finished the week in tied-32nd and on one over, with the world No 4 set to return to San Diego next month to defend his Genesis Invitational title at the same venue – moved from Riviera to Torrey Pines due to the Los Angeles fires.

Halfway leader Ludvig Åberg battled illness over the final two rounds, finishing 11 strokes back on three over after failing to find a birdie in his final-round 79.
