Christmas in July: The most gift-worthy gadgets of the year so far

Yes, I’m already thinking about Christmas. It’s kind of my job — and I love my job. I love making gift recommendations, and since I get to try a lot of awesome products before they’re released, I have a professional advantage. We at Mashable have pulled together a list of the tech gifts we think will be filling up Santa’s sleigh this year. If you notice a considerable lack of Apple products, that’s because we expect to see new Apple product launches in the fall, as per usual.

But there’s a good reason to get a jump start on your holiday shopping this year. Yes, we’re talking about tariffs. One economics professor we spoke to recently predicted that consumer tech products could increase in price by 20 percent in the coming months. So, if you’re getting your shopping done way in advance, we’ve got some Christmas gift ideas for you.

We’ve already seen some incredible product launches so far in 2025, and not just the new Nintendo Switch 2 (which is finally easier to find in stock, thank goodness). We’ve also covered the launch of new headphones, earbuds, smartphone gimbals, and Legos galore.

Mashable Light Speed

Some of our gift ideas would work great for birthdays, but we also have gifts for gamers, unique gift ideas, and ideas for early adopters who want the latest tech.
