The music community has lost a legend.
Ace Frehley—lead guitarist, vocalist and founding member of KISS—has died, his family confirmed to multiple outlets Oct. 16. He was 74.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” read his family’s statement to the outlet. “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.”
Frehley’s loved ones went on to reflect on his lasting impact, saying, “The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension.”
“Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements,” the statement added, “Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”
E! News reached out to Frehley’s management for comment but has not heard back.
Weeks before his passing, Frehley canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates “due to some ongoing medical issues.”
