Tom Brady on Playing 2028 Summer Olympics Flag Football

Tom Brady doesn’t plan on making any plays anytime soon.

After it was announced that flag football would make its Olympic debut as an official sport in the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, the seven-time Super Bowl champ—who hung up his jersey for good in 2023—revealed that a return to the field is far-fetched.

“I would never say never but that is probably unlikely, just so you know,” he said during a March 17 appearance on Good Morning America. “I don’t know, I think for these young guys it’s good for them to do it.”

While he’s leaving the tackles to the current NFL stars, the 48-year-old isn’t opposed to taking on another role for the all-star team.

“If I ever wanted to come in as an advisor role, as a coach something like that, that’s probably better suited for me,” he explained. “But I’ll let the young Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen get out there and try to win a gold medal for the US.”

That said, the news of flag football becoming an Olympic sport has the former pro footballer jazzed—from behind the sports commentators’ desk.
