If you’ve got a dream to see a new version of Tangled, we’ve got some good news for you.
A live-action remake of the 2010 Disney animated feature is currently in the works, according to multiple outlets. Michael Gracey—who helmed 2017’s The Greatest Showman—is in talks to direct a script from Thor: Love and Thunder‘s Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
While there are no firm plot details as of yet, Deadline noted that the script is expected to closely follow the animated version of Tangled, which starred Mandy Moore, Zachary Leviand Donna Murphy.
And when it comes to music, there’s no word yet on if the live-action version will bring back composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater—who nabbed a joint 2011 Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “I See the Light“—for any new songs.
As for who will be taking over the roles of Mandy’s Rapunzel and Zachary’s Flynn Ryder? While casting is still under wraps, Mandy does have thoughts on who could rock Rapunzel’s iconic tresses: Sabrina Carpenter.
