The upcoming Genesis Invitational has been moved from the Riviera Country Club because of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, the PGA Tour confirmed on Thursday.

Tiger Woods was set to host the tournament, scheduled for February 13-16, on the course located in Pacific Palisades, which has been decimated by the fires.

Details of a new venue and arrangements for the PGA Tour Signature Event – featuring a star-studded field – are set to follow.

“The PGA Tour’s focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles,” the PGA Tour said in a statement.

“We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to the tragic wildfires.

“We have determined that The Genesis Invitational 2025 will be played at an alternate location the week of February 10-16.

“A venue update and additional tournament information will be provided in the coming days.”

Woods’ focus on helping ‘everyone struggling’

Speaking earlier in the week, Woods insisted his focus was on supporting those impacted by the wildfires, rather than what was going to happen with the tournament.

“We’re trying to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone is safe and we have meetings scheduled going forward,” Woods said on Tuesday.

Tiger Woods gives an update on the Genesis Open and whether it will go ahead after the recent fires in LA

“As of right now, we’re not really focused on the tournament. It’s more about what we can do to help everyone who’s struggling, who’s lost homes and had their lives changed. There’s so many other things that are bigger than that [tournament].”

Woods had earlier posted on X: “The devastation that is ongoing with the LA fires is such a tragedy and being from California, it hits home. My heart is with those who have suffered unimaginable loss.

“Thank you to the incredible heroes that are the first responders helping to contain and save the community of Los Angeles. We plan to provide an update on our own charitable efforts to help those communities in the coming weeks. Stay strong LA!”
