Did Kim Kardashian Really Damage Marilyn Monroe’s Dress at 2022 Met Gala? The Truth
All’s fair when it comes to questions about Kim Kardashian‘s controversial 2022 Met Gala look.
The reality star is setting the record straight on the claim she damaged Marilyn Monroe‘s Bob Mackie-designed Jean Louis gown while trying to squeeze into the $5 million garment, which the late actress famously wore while singing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
After Kim told Vogue that evening that “it was such a challenge” but she “was determined to fit,” speculation began to brew she had torn the piece. Yet, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum—which owns the dress—confirmed she “did not, in any way, damage the garment in the short amount of time it was worn at the Met Gala.”
Now, after a lie detector test with Teyana Taylor over three years later, more truth is coming to light regarding the situation. Although Kim said “no” when Teyana asked her if she really did damage the dress, all while hooked up to the machine, the next part of their interaction alluded that something happened.
