Jennifer Garner Reveals Why Her and Ben Affleck’s Kids Think She’s “Fully Cringe”
Jennifer Garner is detailing a bittersweet aspect of her motherhood journey.
The 13 Going on 30 actress offered insight into her co-parenting dynamic with ex-husband Ben Affleck—with whom she shares kids Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13—as she reflected on raising their family in “two separate households.”
“I become mom and dad; he becomes dad and mom,” she said in an interview with Bustle published Feb. 24. “You kind of can’t help it, right? Because you don’t have the benefit of both sides of the yin and yang being in the same house. And so you have to have a bit of both in the way that you parent.”
And while Jennifer—who was married to the Oscar winner from 2005 to 2018—has seemingly come to terms with life as a single parent, she admitted the arrangement comes with complex feelings.
“There’s a little bit of loss in that,” the 53-year-old lamented, “but there’s also something gained in that.”
