Hollywood is pressing pause as the community navigates heartbreaking wildfires.

The 2025 Critics Choice Awards, originally set to air on E! Jan. 12 with host Chelsea Handler, have been postponed until Jan. 26. The rescheduled event will remain at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California, with Handler as the emcee.

“This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community,” CCA CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement Jan. 8. “All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected.”

This announcement comes as fires from Pacific Palisades to Pasadena continue to destroy homes and businesses throughout the Los Angeles area, which has resulted in two deaths, L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone confirmed Jan. 8, adding that the high winds are “placing all residents of Los Angeles County in danger.”

Amid the devastation, many residents, including Jamie Lee Curtis, have spoken out about their beloved city.

“My community and possibly my home is on fire,” the Oscar winner wrote on Instagram Jan. 8. “My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.”
