Conor McGregor claims ‘agreement’ to fight Logan Paul in boxing exhibition bout has been struck | Boxing News

Conor McGregor claims he’s “agreed” to fight Logan Paul in an exhibition in India which would see the Irishman feature in a high-profile boxing event for just the second time.

McGregor was recently found liable in a civil court case in which a woman accused him of sexual assault, and was forced to pay over £200,000 in damages. The former UFC champion has said previously he intends to appeal against the decision.

He previously fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017 in a professional boxing bout, which saw him lose in the 10th round by TKO.

McGregor, a former two-weight UFC champion, announced on social media that rumours of a return to the octagon to fight Spanish superstar Ilia Topuria are false – and that instead, he is set to fight Paul before returning to the Octagon – where he has not fought since breaking his leg in a defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021.

“The rumors of a bout with [Ilia] Topurio (sic) are false,” McGregor said in a post on X.

“I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed.

“I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”

McGregor was due to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but pulled out with an injured foot.

Mukesh Ambani, who was mentioned by McGregor in his social media post, has a personal wealth of $120 billion, according to Forbes.

Paul, who gained fame as a YouTuber, has also fought Mayweather in an exhibition fight which ended in a draw. He has also fought three more times, including a win against MMA fighter Dillon Danis – his sole victory.
