Getawhisky and Charisma Cat go head-to-head in our feature race from Newbury – live on Sky Sports Racing.

3.00 Newbury – Classy pair Getawhisky and Charisma Cat fancied

The classy duo of Getawhisky and Charisma Cat will be fancied in this Grade 2 BetVictor British EBF “National Hunt” Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury.

The Dan Skelton-trained Getawhisky ran out an impressive winner of a novices’ hurdle at Windsor in January before finishing well to claim fourth behind Khrisma at Market Rasen. This step up in distance is sure to suit for a yard still going after every pound to get the trainers’ championship over the line.

Charisma Cat and Watamu filled the places that day, but will both have to concede weight to the likely favourite. Charisma Cat has some excellent form including when finishing second to La Conquiere, while Watamu has a similarly progressive profile for Emma Lavelle.

A deep renewal sees lots of alternatives, including the Fergal O’Brien-trained pair Strong Run and Edith Pelham.

3.35 Newbury – Diamond Street and Lover Desbois headline

A typically competitive renewal of this Goffs Hundred Grand Bumper sees Diamond Street headline a field of 20.

Dan Skelton’s gelding was a stylish winner of a Doncaster bumper on debut in January and although the form is untested, he should be in the mix under Harry Skelton.

Lover Desbois, fourth behind Bass Hunter on debut here, improved on that to score at Kempton on his next outing and his trainer Harry Derham explained this has been the plan since.

Keltype made all to win at Chepstow on his second start, while Nicky Henderson’s filly Madam Speaker is another to note under Sean Bowen.

4.38 Southwell – Last-time winners Gaeli and Fahrenheit Seven clash

A strong Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap is the feature on this eight-race card at Southwell.

Gaeli made a winning debut for Marco Botti and Jack Gilligan when seeing off Fivethousandtoone earlier this month and he must be feared especially if he can step forward despite a 6lbs rise.

Fahrenheit Seven relished the return to the minimum distance when scoring at Newcastle 43 days ago and that form gives him an obvious each-way chance under top pilot Tom Marquand.

Brosay makes appeal on his first start for Charlie Pike and Kylian is another to note on debut for Robert Cowell.

Best of the rest

Returning to handicap company, Storming George will be popular with bettors in the Get Best Odds Guaranteed At BetVictor Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at 1.50pm, with the Nicky Henderson-trained Thewoodcorner a likely threat.

Greatwood Gold Cup hero Heltenham looks the one to beat back at Newbury in the 2.25pm BetVictor Home Of The Saturday Superboost Handicap Chase, although Prairie Wolf, Knappers Hill and Twinjets will all fancy their chances in what looks an excellent contest in Berkshire.

At Bangor, Knickerbockerglory and Static are set to lock horns in the feature 3.20pm Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap Hurdle, with Joyeux Machin making an appearance in the Virgin Bet Handicap Chase earlier on the card.

At Newcastle, Rastnet and Alther Walden look the key players in the Midnite: Built For 2026 Not 2006 Handicap before Starglow – who is closely related to Romantic Style – goes to post for the Always Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Novice Stakes (5.30pm).

Stateside, Fair Grounds plays host to the 10.42pm Grade 2 Louisiana Derby, which features Autobahn and Emerging Market.
