He likes it, he loves it—but he left his cowboy hat at home this time!

Tim McGraw made a rare public appearance without his signature cowboy hat and showed off his cropped brunette locks.

The “Something Like That” singer stepped out with wife Faith Hill for the Beatles ’64 documentary premiere in New York City Nov. 24 wearing a mauve turtleneck, black slacks and boots. His usual headwear absent, he instead sported a salt-and-pepper beard as he posed alongside the “This Kiss” hitmaker on the red carpet.

Faith opted for a black blazer, white button-down shirt and wide-legged jeans. She wore her shoulder-length hair in natural curls and flashed her thousand-watt smile for photographers.

The couple—who share daughters Gracie, 27, Maggie, 26, and Audrey, 22—had previously stepped out the week prior for opening night of the new play Babe, where Tim chatted up fellow attendees without his cowboy hat on.
