Warrington Wolves will rename their stadium in honour of darts world champion Luke Littler for their opening home game of the new Super League season.

Lifelong Wolves fan Littler became the youngest winner of the World Darts Championship when he triumphed at Alexandra Palace in January, a few weeks before his 18th birthday.

Warrington, who narrowly missed out on a place in last year’s Grand Final, are renaming The Halliwell Jones Stadium as ‘The Luke Littler Stadium’ for their match with Catalans Dragons on Friday February 21.

Littler will be a guest of honour on the night and lead the team out, as well as parading his world championship trophy around the pitch at half-time.

Littler said: “It’s a dream come true that the club I’ve been a fan of since I was young has decided to name the stadium after me for a night!

“It’s an absolute honour and I can’t thank the club enough.”

Tuesday’s announcement comes less than 24 hours before the 2025 Super League’s official season launch, which you can follow live from Wednesday on the Sky Sports app.

Littler, meanwhile, begins the defence of his Premier League Darts title on Thursday evening in Belfast, live on Sky Sports.

Warrington Wolves chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “Luke’s achievements on the world stage have been nothing short of incredible, and we are immensely proud to celebrate his success with this special homecoming.

“He’s a true Warrington fan, and therefore renaming our stadium in his honour for our home opener is a fitting tribute.”

The Super League season begins on Thursday February 13 with defending champions Wigan Warriors hosting Leigh Leopards, while Warrington begin their campaign away to Huddersfield Giants on Sunday February 16.

Sky Sports will again show every game of the Super League live this season – including two matches in each round exclusively live, with the remaining four matches each week shown on Sky Sports+
