Few things are better than curling up on the couch with a good book.

These days, though, it’s easy to find excuses to do anything but that (i.e., scrolling on TikTok or binge-watching your comfort show for the fifth time—hey, we don’t judge).

However, if your goal this year is to read more books, the key is to pick up a book that will keep your interest no matter how many distractions tempt you to put it down.

With so many choices, it can be hard to know which books will actually capture your attention.

Lucky for you, our shopping editors came through with some amazing book recommendations that are sure to get you out of that months-long reading slump.

Who knows? You might even find your new favorite book on this list.

If you’re into celebrities—and if you’re reading this, you probably are—memoirs are a great way to kick-start your reading journey.

Self-described “it girls” will love Julia Fox’s Down The Drain, while fans of the Food Network will be captivated by Ina Garten’s inspiring memoir, Be Ready When Luck Happens.

Prefer a fiction book? You can never go wrong with anything by Dolly Alderton, who is a champion of the modern-day love story.

Want something funny? Try Jen Beagin’s hilarious novel Big Swiss, which one editor describes as “laugh-out-loud funny.”

Want to read more? These editor-approved picks will help you reach your reading goal this month.
