Scarlett—who also shares son Cosmo, 3, with husband Colin Jost—added that she has also been on the other side of a silent breakup, as someone who has been “ghosted” herself.

“I think the worst part about that is that, at least when you’re dumped, you’re like, ‘OK, it’s over.’ Whatever they said, it’s face to face,” she said. “Even on a phone call, like you’re like, ‘OK, I get it, I could process this.’ Honestly, being ghosted is awful because you’re just left with no answers at all. And you’re thinking, ‘Oh my god, did I do something?’

Scarlett added, “It haunts you for years.”

The Black Widow actress, who began guest cohosting Today Jan. 21 following Hoda Kotb‘s departure earlier this month, also shared another lesson she’s passed on to Rose.

When cohost Jenna Bush Hager asked for advice when a viewer felt slighted by not being invited by friends on a group trip, Scarlett revealed that her daughter went through a similar problem recently.
