Mind-blowing image of ‘gravity-defying Olympic surfer’ earns gold
An extraordinary photograph, shot by Tahiti-based French photographer Jerome Brouillet, showing Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina appearing to float mid-air while celebrating on day three of the surfing event at last summer’s Olympic Games has earned the top prize at the World Sports Photography Awards 2025
