Carbine Harvester will go for the hat-trick for William Haggas at Lingfield this afternoon – running as the trainer’s sole representative at the meeting.

1.58 Lingfield – In-form Carbine Harvester faces Brosay

A quality race for the grade sees in-form Carbine Harvester seek a hat-trick. The William Haggas-trained three-year-old has excelled since switching to handicaps winning at Wolverhampton and Southwell and looks the one to beat as he remains 4lb well-in.

Brosay rates the biggest danger having scored nicely on his debut for trainer Paul Attwater and he should be suited by the step up to six furlongs.

Dream Voyage and Sergio Parisse complete the shortlist.

2.32 Lingfield – Starshiba & Bowood contest trappy handicap

The Jack Morland team has been in flying form with numerous winners in the last two weeks and Starshiba will be popular having landed a similar contest over course and distance last month.

Bowood was narrowly denied on his last two starts at Southwell and granted a better start he must be feared as he seeks a first all-weather success.

Marco Botti’s Invincible Aura remains on a competitive mark and is another to note.

11.58 Lingfield – Knockbrex, Hitched and Epsom Faithfull feature

A competitive opener where several hold claims in this Gamble Responsibly At BetUK Handicap.

Knockbrex improved for the step up to 12 furlongs when landing a course handicap on his last start and a 5lb penalty looks fair despite the drop back in distance.

David Simcock’s Hitched ended last year in hot form, but the handicapper has reacted accordingly. Epsom Faithful has performed well over this course and distance and cannot be ruled out.

Best of the rest

James Owen’s Khangai goes in the Deva Racing colours in the 12.28pm at Lingfield, alongside Moon Over The Sea who impressed with victory at Wolverhampton the last day.

Forever Proud could be another contender in the lucky last for Owen, but may not run having scored comfortably at Wolverhampton just two days ago.
